Established the STEM TRAIL Center as a “UNO Big Idea”
Established the STEM TRAIL Center as a “UNO Big Idea”: In 2019-2020, the UNO campus carried out an internal pitch contest for the key strategic areas that the campus wanted to invest via the “UNO Big Ideas” initiative. In 2019-2020, The leads of the various ideas shared information about their ideas through listening sessions, campus forums, and ultimately through a final “Big Ideas” presentation similar to TEDx talks. Ultimately, 6 ideas were selected, one of which was the STEM TRAIL Center. Following this announcement was the first of an institutional investment into STEM (the initiative had been exclusively extramurally funded prior to November 2020). Our partnership included more than 70 faculty and staff from across the campus, which included representatives from every College on campus, which included 3 lead Deans supporting the initiative.
